Turning Into Great Excited Readers

Welcome to the Toyon School Library! Students visit the Library once a week with their class. During their visit, there are a variety of activities; such as hearing a story, or a book talk introducing new books. Students may do research via the internet or participate in a reader's theater, write poetry and much more.

At the time of their visit, students will check out book(s).The books are due the next time their class visits the library. If a book is lost or damaged, the student will be charged accordingly. He/she will not be allowed to check out books until his/her name is cleared. Please, parents help your child be successful!

The library has a large selection of books that enhances the school curriculum and promotes the love of reading.

The card catalog is online for the students' convenience. The Accelerated Reader Program is also provided at the Library. Students can read AR leveled books, take quizzes and see their reading progress. And as stated before, the computer station is a great place to do research.

The Library is a great experience that encourages students to develop life-reading skills through hands-on exposure to multiple media.
