First Grade Homework
Homework for the first grade will be the same for all three classrooms. Homework will be in 3 parts.
- There will be a Homework Packet with Spelling Words and assignments, Math assignments, any additional Science, Social Studies and/or Writing assigments. Your child will be bringing it home each Monday. Your child is to work on it all week and return the packet on Thursday. Thursday nights you will need to give your child a Spelling Practice Test to help them study for the Spelling Test on Friday.
- Reading Log - You need to read with your child for 20 minutes each night. The reading log will come home on Mondays with the Homework Packet, but it is to be returned on the following Monday. Please read with your child everyday Monday - Sunday.
- There might be times that your child will be bringing home work that he/she has not finished in class. This is to be completed that night and returned the next day.
The first grade teachers are expecting full participation in homework completion. Parent involvement in homework completion will help to insure your child's success in first grade. Please complete all homework. If it is incomplete or not turned in at all, your child will then have to work on their homework it during their lunch recess everyday until it is completed.
